Basically, a producer company is a company registered to deal with its active member’s primary activity relating to agriculture. The primary target also requires production for its consumption and exports. Part IXA of the Companies Act, 1956 is valid for the purposes of forming a producer, corporation before some separate Act for those companies is passed. A production company is registered as a producer with ten or more members; or two or more producer institutions; or a mixture thereof. The responsibility of its shareholders, like every other corporation, is limited to the extent of its members’ unpaid share capital. Under this Act, the producer, corporation is assumed to be a private limited company, but the number of shareholder threshold does not extend to the limited company.
